Building a Community-Based Church

Bringing help, hope, and a healing hand to a our worldwide community

Every year Redeemer members spend countless hours serving the greater Richmond area and beyond through various ministry efforts. Through the initiatives below and many others, Redeemer has established an on-going tradition of bringing the love of Christ to those in need.

Appalachia Servant Event

Every summer a group of Redeemer youth and adults join with other Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregations to repair and improve homes in Maryland and West Virginia.

Christmas Giving Tree

Each November Redeemer members purchase 200-240 gifts for Richmond area families in need.

Good Samaritan Inn

This local shelter provides meals and other services to families on Richmond's South Side. Redeemer members prepare weekly meals for Good Samaritan guests and provide food for nearly 200 people for Good Samaritan's annual Thanksgiving Meal.

Women's Battered Shelter & Clinic

Redeemer's Thursday morning quilting group prepares quilts to give to battered women and their children.

Monthly Free Community  Events

Every month, Redeemer offers a free event to the community surrounding the church and beyond. These events range from our annual Halloween event (Great Goodie Grab) to a Pirate Scavenger Hunt through the neighborhoods close by. All are welcome and encouraged to join us!
